Definitions

"You" refers to the user of SUMMAYH, whether acting as a buyer or seller. "We," "us," or SUMMAYH refers to SUMMAYH Limited.

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to use SUMMAYH. As a seller, you confirm that you are genuinely capable of delivering the services you list, and you agree not to accept jobs you do not intend to complete in full. As a buyer, you agree to only request services you intend to pay for in full.

2. Scope of services

SUMMAYH supports multiple service types: freelance project work, live one-on-one or group sessions (classes), semi-onsite services (e.g. delivery-based services involving a middleman), and full onsite services (coming soon). Sellers may list and deliver services under any applicable category, buyers may browse and purchase these services directly through the platform.

3. Prohibited conduct

The following actions are strictly prohibited and may result in suspension or permanent removal from the platform:
  • Attempting to take a transaction off-platform, including sharing external contact details, payment links, or communication channels not approved by SUMMAYH
  • Requesting or demanding payment beyond the agreed gig amount
  • Posting fake, duplicate, or cloned gig listings, including copying another user's content or profile to gain visibility
  • Impersonating another individual or misrepresenting your identity to appear more credible or visible on the platform
  • Harassment, abusive behavior, or sending explicit/NSFW content or images to any user
  • Posting illegal services or content
First violation: 3-month suspension. Your verified identity is retained to prevent the creation of a new account during this period. Repeat violation: Permanent ban.

4. Off-platform solicitation (lesser offense)

Attempting to direct another user off-platform is treated separately from other violations above, in recognition that this may sometimes be accidental or a misunderstanding. A first and second occurrence will result in a warning, a third occurrence results in permanent suspension.

5. Content/work theft

If you are found posting another user's work as your own, you will be notified and given 7 days to remove the content or resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved within 7 days, the standard 3-month suspension under Section 3 applies. A repeat violation results in a permanent ban.

6. Legal compliance

Because SUMMAYH verifies user identity during onboarding, any user found posting dangerous, illegal, or harmful content may be reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities in Nigeria, in addition to any account action taken by SUMMAYH.

7. Seller conduct during LIVE sessions

When conducting a LIVE gig, sellers must behave professionally and respectfully at all times. Abusive language, insults, or harassment of buyers during a session is strictly prohibited.

8. Session integrity

Sellers must not intentionally prolong, pad, or drag out a session beyond what is reasonably needed to deliver its stated purpose, in order to pressure buyers into purchasing additional sessions.

9. LIVE session timing rules (applies to both buyers and sellers)

Buyers are granted a 5-minute grace period after the first 10 minutes of a session to join. We recommend a stable internet connection of at least 5 Mbps for LIVE sessions. After the first 10 minutes, sellers who disconnect are given a 90-second grace period to reconnect. If a seller fails to reconnect within this window, the session will end automatically and be flagged against the seller's account, this affects their overall platform standing, not just the individual gig, as it reflects a failure to respect the buyer' time and money spent.

10. Buyer requirement accuracy

Buyers must provide accurate and complete requirements/details for the service they are purchasing. Vague or misleading requirements that prevent a seller from properly delivering the service may affect your eligibility for a refund if a dispute arises.

11. Seller service clarity

Every freelance gig listing must include a free-text field where the seller clearly describes what is included in the service. Where relevant, sellers are advised to specify whether raw materials (e.g. video clips, source files) must be supplied by the buyer, or whether the seller is responsible for producing them.

12. Seller profile accuracy

Sellers must state clear and accurate intentions and capabilities in their profile. A structured portfolio feature is planned for a future update to further support this.

13. Gig description accuracy

Every gig listing must clearly state the exact service offered and what is included, to avoid ambiguity. For example, for an editing gig: does the buyer supply the raw footage, or does the seller also produce the clips? Listings must make this clear so buyers know exactly what they are paying for.

14. Listing misrepresentation

Listings that misrepresent the scope of a service, or use bait-and-switch tactics to secure a sale, may be removed. The responsible seller will be subject to the enforcement actions outlined in Section 3.

15. Payout account matching

The bank account or payout details you provide must match your verified identity on file. Mismatched account details may result in delayed or withheld payments pending verification.

16. Buyer dispute conduct

As a buyer, you must not abuse the dispute system to obtain a refund when you know the work was completed satisfactorily and matches what you requested. Doing so may result in account restrictions.

17. Delivery verification marks

To protect against buyers claiming non-delivery in bad faith, SUMMAYH may apply visible verification marks to submitted deliverables prior to final review and approval: a SUMMAYH watermark on images/video files, and a SUMMAYH Limited audio tag on audio deliverables. These marks are removed once the delivery is accepted and payment is released.

18. LIVE session no-shows

If you do not attend a LIVE session you have booked, you may not open a dispute claiming the session did not occur, as attendance records will confirm your absence.
